Representative Stark shocked the American people when he said:

1.     “...there are very few limits

[on] the federal government.”

2.     “The inheritance [death] tax doesn't exist

right now, but it will come back I am sure.”

Representative Stark may not recognize limits, but Americans do!

You can help remind Congress that their are limits on just taxation.

Make public officials tell the truth:  Do they believe that Congress should observe limits on taxation?

Will they pledge to repeal the unjust death tax?

The Contest:  Remind Congress of its limits by asking Members of Congress to sign the Death Tax Repeal Pledge and filming their response.  Awards will be given for the best three videos of officials signing the pledge and the best three videos of officials refusing to sign.  Top prize: $150, second prize: $100, third prize, $50.

Contest Rules and Guidelines:

1. Film a video of a Member of Congress at a public gathering (private meetings are not acceptable) signing or refusing to sign the Death Tax Repeal Pledge.

 

2. The video must be your own creation or a shared creation with a friend.

 

3. Be respectful.  Contestants who use profane language, bullying, or unruly behavior will be disqualified.

 

4. Attend a campaign event for a public official who has not signed the Death Tax Repeal Pledge. You can find out who has signed the pledge by visiting www.nodeathtax.org/map.  The best way to find public campaign events is to visit the official's website or call the official's office.

 

5. Bring an unaltered, printed copy of the “Death Tax Repeal Pledge” to the event.

6. Take a quality video of your question and the candidate’s response.  The candidate should be easily identifiable with the naked eye and the candidate’s speech must be audible.

 

7. Attend the event and wait for the opportunity to ask questions.  Do not interrupt the candidate’s speech.

 

8. Ask the candidate if he or she will sign the pledge. A suggested script: “Congress refuses to address one of the key impediments to small business job creation – the death tax.  No vote on the death tax is a vote for a 55% death tax, the rate at which the tax returns on January 1, 2011.  Research finds that repealing the death tax could allow small businesses to create 1.5 million jobs.  Will you commit to supporting small business job growth by signing the Death Tax Repeal Pledge?” [Hold up pledge.]
