Thanks to AFBI’s supporters and friends, we did it!
We educated the American public and the voters have made their decision.
For the first time in six years, America has elected a pro-repeal majority in Congress.
Tuesday, voters across America elected 12 pledge signers to the U.S. Senate and 119 pledge signers to the U.S. House of Representatives.
Between these candidates and sitting representatives who have voted for repeal in the past, we have a majority in the House of Representatives and a near-majority in the Senate.
59 U.S. Senate candidates signed the Death Tax Repeal pledge. Of these, 12 won on Tuesday night.
Our Senate pledge signers include:
Other victorious pledge signers in the Senate include Kelly Ayotte (NH), Senator Richard Burr (NC), Rand Paul (KY), Rob Portman (IN), and Pat Toomey (PA).
In Washington state, we are crossing our fingers for pledge signer Dino Rossi, whose race has yet to be called.
With the races that have been decided, we have at least 49 identified votes in favor of repeal. If Rossi wins his race, we will have 50 votes in favor of repeal.
In the House of Representatives, 442 candidates signed the Death Tax Repeal Pledge this year. Of these, 119 won on Tuesday night.
These include:
Other victorious pledge signers in the House include Joe Heck (NV-3), Kristi Noem (SD-At Large), Tim Scott (SC-1), Daniel Webster (FL-8), and many more.
You can see our full list of winners at: www.nodeathtax.org/election2010.
Besides these signers, there are 126 sitting Members of the House who have voted with us in the past and can be expected to do so in the future. Counting them all, we have at least 245 House Members – an easy majority – in support of death tax repeal.
Thank you for standing with AFBI and defending the American dream!

The Death Tax fight will soon be decided in the halls of Congress by your representatives. AFBI is leading the fight for repeal in Washington, but we cannot do it alone.
