Dear Family Business supporter,
Our campaign for death tax freedom depends on the 430 candidates who have signed the death tax repeal pledge.
Their success depends on encouragement from the American people.
Will you take a moment today to call (or email) and thank your candidates for U.S. House and Senate if they have signed the pledge? Please visit AFBI's Death Tax Pledge Tracking Center, find your state, and see if your candidates are listed in bold (indicating that they have signed the pledge). You can then visit the candidates' website to call or email.
If they have signed, please let them know that supporting repeal is important to you and that you are glad that they have taken a principled stand in defense of America's family business owners and farmers.
Thank them for supporting a real "jobs bill" - because permanent repeal could allow small businesses to create 1.5 million jobs.
If your candidates have not signed, will you please ask them to do so?
You can call or email them, but the best way to get their signature on the pledge is to present the pledge to them in person, at a public meeting.
Visit the candidate's webpage and/or call the campaign's office. Ask the candidate's staffer when he or she will next hold a public forum.
Bring a copy of AFBI's death tax repeal pledge and a video recording device to the event. If the candidate agrees to sign, congrats! You've just helped put your candidate on the record supporting death tax repeal. You also could win up to $150 if you send your video of the signing to AFBI. Details for entering your video can be found here.
If the candidate refuses to sign the pledge, keep your camera rolling. Capture the candidate's response and send it to AFBI. You may not have obtained a new signer, but you've helped AFBI put another candidate on the record. You also may win up to $150.
Saying "thank you" to candidates who have signed AFBI's pledge will encourage them to stay the course. Saying "please" to those who have not signed will help AFBI put every candidate on the record for - or against - death tax repeal.
No Taxation without Respiration!

P.S. I'm sending this email to you from Nevada where I am currently saying "thanks" to Congressional candidate Dr. Joe Heck for signing our pledge. Please let us know which candidates you say "please" and "thank you" to this week and how they respond!
The Death Tax fight will soon be decided in the halls of Congress by your representatives. AFBI is leading the fight for repeal in Washington, but we cannot do it alone.
